So wed. a friend of mine calls me and asks if I want to make some $$$$ this weekend. I said ok what so you have. 2 350Z's that need clutches put in them. But that both needed to be done in one day. So I said I'm game.

Well I started this morning at 8:30 on the first one. An 05 all stock. Put in a JWT fw and clutch, and a steelbraided clutch line. Total time on install 3.5 hrs.

Car 2. 03 350Z w/ invidia cat back. As I started the guy asked if I could but on his test pipes at the same time. OK. Total time to install test pipes and ACT fw and exidy clutch. 2.5 hrs.

Total time to do 2 clutch/fw and test pipes. 6 hours. And I made half of what I need for my Fast Intention exh.

How many miles were on those two clutches?

I don't know about the 03, but the 05 had 35000 on it. There was nothing wrong w/ the 05. The guy just didn't like the lack of feel that the clutch had. The 03 was about 75% gone.

That almost meets warranty time. I think it's 1.8 to R&I the trans and .3 to add a clutch. The first few take some take but anything other than the 07 sedan and the 37 are easy and the trans is really light too so that makes it a little easier.

There is no fair gauge to measure how long a particular should last as all people drive slightly different. I saw this one lady have her car towed in the same day she took it bc she couldn't drive stick, despite how many times the salesman told her otherwise. There have been people that have made it beyond 90-100k on the stock clutch.Others don't let them completely fail before replacing them. Then there are the poor sobs who let their kid barrow the car and they trash the clutch reenacting Tokyo Drift.

By ALLDATA warrany is 3.1 w/ flywheel, and regular time is 4.6. I think it took me 3 hours to put the cluch and flywheel in my G a few weeks ago.

I am paying the price for busting arse doing 2 clutch jobs in on day. I am sore from head to toe. But I didn't want to use up my Saturday off working on everyone elses stuff.

I'll have to look into that. I know our coding is different that AD for many things like that.

I know exactly what your talking about. Lame. Makes Sundays fun though as you sit on the couch being actively sore. That's when very little gets done around the house.
