I'm in a condo overlooking Yonge street in downtown Toronto and people are going bananas in a polite Canadian way.

Well, I could probably write a novel about this, but I'll try to keep it short.

Crosby cries all the time. Seriously. He expects every call to go his way. He complains to the refs all game, even when they're clearly calling the game to his favor. If I wanted to watch crying and diving to get calls, I'd watch soccer.

To be fair (only somewhat - I'm clearly biased), the NHL has thrust him into the poster boy position, so he's always in the spotlight. Since he's always there, and you always see a lot of him, it seems everyone either loves or hates him. But, as a fan, I'm supposed to be the one crying about calls. Not the athletes. They need to go out and play and not cry and moan the whole time. Just my two cents.

Ummm...he's the captain, it's part of his job to question the calls.

I don't understand all the hate either??

Shouldn't you be working on your fantasy drift lineup?

I'd argue that is more the coaches responsibility. Even so, he gets most of the calls in his favor already. Why keep complaining? It's part of the reason I don't watch the NBA. The same favoritism is shown towards guys like Kobe and LeBron (and Jordan got it too). Again, just my opinion.

With glowing hearts, we kick their a**! <-- as quoted by a friend of mine currently living in Laguna.

That was a freakin' amazing game! I don't think I've ever seen a game quite like that before. Big props to the US team though...they played a wicked game!

I have never seen this many candians on here in my life. Maybe there's a instinct in candians that when they win a hockey game the go on Nico.

If we are going to be honest I knew pretty quick that Canada was gonna take it.Going into OT I though we had it. We spent the second and most of the third (save the begining) really taking it to them. If we could have kept up like that we would have had it.But the whole OT Canada was running things, they were making some good shots and ours were just kind of desperate attempts to get the puck going towards their goal.

PS Canada cheats

Crosby would have never gotten the puck back to score if the damn ref wasn't in the damn way. He cleared it, hit the refs skate, took puck back, and scored.

We wouldn't have made that first goal if the ref noticed that offsides.

It goes both ways. That is sport. All sports have their aspects that are unfair and beyond all control, but over time it all evens out.

^This

I try not to complain too much because it does generally even out. Sometimes there are really lopsided games, but I wouldn't call that the norm...

That was pretty much exactly the mood in our pub! About halfway through the third we were all like, "guys...I've got a bad feeling about this......"

I didn't actually watch the game but I'll give a thumbs up to you Canadians. I have friends and relatives in Canada and they are some awesome Hokey players. If the US would have won over Canada that would have been extremely embarrassing for the Canadians because they are the gods of hokey.
