Check your manufacture date on your door plate. If your Versa was built BEFORE December 1, 2006, please post in this thread.

Please post two things:

1) your vehicle's exact build date and2) have you had any problems with your V?

(If your build date is 12-01-06 or later, or your fail to post your build date, I will edit out your response. This thread is only for early V's. There will be another thread for the newer ones.)

- Alignment was messed up when I bought it, has gone south again fixed once under warranty and getting it realigned for the 2nd time when my pass. seat comes in.

- Driver side window switch went bad but every other switch in the car worked. REPLACED under warranty

- Passenger side seat has a bad back spring, sticks out a little bit, and makes a squeaky noise. Waiting on part to arrive getting fixed under warranty.

-Driver side outside window finisher damaged on delivery. REPLACED under warranty.

Those are all of the problems that I have encountered thus far, if any other problems arise, I will update this post.

Build date 09-2006. Purchase date: 10-2006. Only problem so far is dirt keeps getting on my shiny paint. Found out that the warranty doesnt cover cleaning of the dirt from the exterior of my car. Seriously tho....my only complaint so far has been less than expected gas mileage. Seems to be improving tho.

Car come with a defective electric windows in passenger door (was only opening in half)

Breaks making weird noise (everything's good but they scream at nothing)

Plastic that cover the bottom of the handbrake sometimes pop out cause they are too shorter for the opening (was never fixed)

That's all

1. 07/062. TPMS, of course. And the airbag/seatbelt sensor, which was a nightmare to replace, but finally had it fixed. Seal on passenger side rear door fell off.

Passenger side accident (not my fault, and not Nissan's)Luckily, no major damages and nobody injured. I was amazed by the strength of the body.

TPMS - I'm going for the third time this week. This time, I will have the BCM replaced.

Hand brake plastic cover popped out from the beggining and I will have it replaced at the next trip to the dealership, this week.

Hatch lock broken - Had to replace the whole mechanism and the inside ornament (they broke it while checking what's wrong)

All the works were done under warranty.

But, with all the problems, I love driving my V.

Mine came from factory order paperwork they left under the seat. The actual door plate just says 07/06.

Manufactured 5/06 - Versa Hatchback, Manual, power package. Bought 08/06

Tire pressure light came on at app. 200 miles, dealer reset.

Temperature control knob could only be moved from half way to hot. Then later broke completely. Apparently the lever in the heater core froze up, and the plastic wore down and broke. After waiting over a week and half dealer finally get in correct part and fixes it.

After fixing the heater problem I realize my Drivers window no longer has an auto up/down feature. I take it in to be fixed. The idiot "service manager" comes out after about an hour and tells me that the Driver's window doesn't have that feature, but the other windows do. Ie. All other three windows will automatically go up and down by pushing/pulling the switch all the way, just not the drivers- a feature I never had. I explain that it did actually have a drivers auto up/down and not on the rest of the windows. He doesn't believe me. I ask him to show me the new feature my car has. He is shocked when it works the way I said it did. Idiot.

Tire Pressure light comes on again, at about 2500 miles. A few days later I noticed that the Passenger side front air bag cover has popped up a little bit on the left side. Dealer orders a replacement TPMS control unit and new air bag assembly. While I was there I asked the dealer to quote me on how much it would cost to replace the drivers side front door handle as I'd slide on some ice while getting into the car and pushed down hard on the handle to steady my self. The result was a loose wobbly handle. The dealer was nice enough to claim this under warranty repair and not charge me at all.

The Air bag and TPMS control unit came in about two weeks after I was there, but it took nearly 2 months to get the replacement door handle. Even after supposedly upgrading the order to 'emergency status' it still took 2 weeks to arrive.

Everything above has been fully covered under warranty and even several times included the dealer renting me a car from enterprise at their expense.

Now we've been having an ongoing problem with the air bag sensor for the front passenger. When my wife is siting there sometimes it will seemingly randomly switch off (the light comes on). But shifting around on the seat makes things right. Right now I'm waiting to see if rumors are true about a recall concerning the wiring harness associated with that. If not I'll take it to the dealer and see what they think.

Out of curiosity EV, why are you asking for this info?

Comparing problems between newer and older units, I know they made SOME production changes in the october-november timeframe, but not specifically what.

Basically, seeing if a lot of the old production problems have now gone away.

1. 5/062. TPMS light came on around 4000 miles, had it reset and hasn't been on since. Also been to the dealer twice for a mold smell when the AC/Defrost comes on. So far nothing has fixed it, it goes away after a few minutes so I'm living with it. OTherwise it's been greats.
