older car newer engine swap

i have a 98 240 sx which i unfortunately toatled... i saw an older gen 240 sx in an auto shopper with high mileage... so i figured that since most 240 engines are similar (ka engines) that the swap would be simple... then i realized that it might not work due to the fact that my 98 is an auto and the 89 is a 5 speed... that and im not sure if the wiring and cpus are the same etc... so is the swapp as easy as i thought? iwhat would be required that neither car might have? id be really greatful if someone could help... i looked for swaps but the topice were all about swaping in a diffrent engine ... thanxpeaceGR

Search for KA24DE swap. The engines are different, the swap involves some work, but you should have most of the equipment in your totalled 98. It basically invovles changing EVERYTHING, and you'll have to source parts from an S13 like the gauge cluster, and a few other minor things that don't come to mind at the moment.......
