Well I didn't think that was appropriate because I had Carl H. calibrate it for the 6 cylinder. I shouldn't really be freaking out about the RPMs because I haven't yet adjusted the idle, set the TPS, nor set the timing.pirate87 wrote:have you adjusted your tach? Mine idles at 1000rpm or 2000rpm on my 4 cyl. tach.

Oh snap, I didnt even see that. Def. makes sense though, even with a corssover pipe which I've never thought looked great unless its a hard pipe. Still, if it works and runs cooler who caresAbdo wrote:TopHat Performance
Thanks for the kudos! Your question has already been answered m8!
Quote Abdo:It's already done actually! If i can find my camera I'll snap a few photos tonight.the reason for the sr20 radiator is because the inlet and outlet are on different ends of the radiator, therefor the coolant must travel from one side of the core to the other before going back into the system, rather than just straight up and down, hence cooling more efficiently.
Quote Kansei240sx:there is a 160 degree radiator hose bend that you can get and it fits perfectly. I am using the same setup as he is, because im the one that showed him how to do it and cut it to fit. It also runs cooler and more efficient than those 3 row koyo paper weights and pull fans are also a bonus.
I will replace the rubber hosing with polished metal piping whenever I find myself in a state with nothing better to do other than make my car look more prettyful. I should get her drivable tomorrow, so I'll try and snag a video then.skillzilla wrote:Oh snap, I didnt even see that. Abdo wrote:Idle is steady at 1,500rpm when cold, idle drops to 1,200rpm really quick and makes a louder noise when it heats up.if i punch (or tap) the gas pedal quickly, the car dies.i can get the rpm to a little over 3,000rpm if I ease into it, but then the car will later die. I was able to drive the car in my neighborhood, and it made it to 3,500rpm before it began sputtering.
the timing is set, throttle position sensor is set, new rb25t maf.walbro 255lph fuel pumpgreddy intake mani, q54 tbam performance turbo elbow d/pngk 3330 spark plugs, factory gapped (not re-gapped) at .032" (0.813 mm)
after i noticed a huge puff of black smoke out of the muffler, i turned the car off and checked the NEW spark plugs. they were fouled and black. I cleaned them off with a wire brush and tried starting the car again, same results. and the plugs were fouled once again.
this means (yes i know, I'm captain obvious) it's running far too rich.
I am guessing the stock fuel pressure regulator could be a problem with the walbro 255lph? I have an AEM FPR that i previously used on my KA-T. I'm not sure if I should go ahead and install that and see if it helps any.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Abdo wrote:Is there really a way to check if it is bad? I'm asking so that I don't replace a good part and remain in the same "stuck" position I am in now, only haven spent money on a Z32 engine coolant temperature sensor that I didn't necessarily need. Thanks for the advice Carl, I appreciate your good help man.

Question: could the injectors, FPR, or coil-packs have anything to do with this occurrence?
