I got the car started yesterday, YEAH! Open down-pipe baby , yeah it was SO loud, and sexy at that! The exhaust manifold smoked for about the first 8-10 minutes, which worried me for a while but I suppose it was just the burning of cleaner residue. The idle was steady at 2,000RPMs? The factory Oil Pressure Light worked fine, as well as the factory Temperature Gauge. I had to disconnect the power steering because it didn't clear with my factory intercooler hot-pipe location, so until I get a new hot-pipe I'll be screwed with no power steering. I also decided to remove the Oil Catch Tank for now, whenever I get that new hot-pipe I will find a good location for the catch tank. My lower engine harness needs some work, so none of the transmission plugs are connected at the moment, and I won't have time until next weekend to fix that. I will upload a few videos of it running as soon as I bleed the clutch fluid system. I wish I could get it done tonight but DAMN school is kicking my *** this week! LOL!Oh by the way, I posted 2 new pictures up top, check them out!!

I'm looking for a Z32 MAF, so if anyone has one laying around please let me know, thanks!!

Well I didn't think that was appropriate because I had Carl H. calibrate it for the 6 cylinder. I shouldn't really be freaking out about the RPMs because I haven't yet adjusted the idle, set the TPS, nor set the timing.

Probably just talking about his own mistakes. Oh well, we all know when we all see a little envy.

Thanks for the kudos! Your question has already been answered m8!

Quote Abdo:It's already done actually! If i can find my camera I'll snap a few photos tonight.the reason for the sr20 radiator is because the inlet and outlet are on different ends of the radiator, therefor the coolant must travel from one side of the core to the other before going back into the system, rather than just straight up and down, hence cooling more efficiently.

Quote Kansei240sx:there is a 160 degree radiator hose bend that you can get and it fits perfectly. I am using the same setup as he is, because im the one that showed him how to do it and cut it to fit. It also runs cooler and more efficient than those 3 row koyo paper weights and pull fans are also a bonus.
Oh snap, I didnt even see that. Def. makes sense though, even with a corssover pipe which I've never thought looked great unless its a hard pipe. Still, if it works and runs cooler who cares

I will replace the rubber hosing with polished metal piping whenever I find myself in a state with nothing better to do other than make my car look more prettyful. I should get her drivable tomorrow, so I'll try and snag a video then.

Man I'm really digging your swap/ build thread. Keep it up man. It's a tough call when choosing between RB and SR for me, more weight and headache but overall better sounding engine, or the other... hmm. Nevertheless, awesome job so far, I'm loving the baller Tein braces!

RB25 Help
Abdo wrote:Idle is steady at 1,500rpm when cold, idle drops to 1,200rpm really quick and makes a louder noise when it heats up.if i punch (or tap) the gas pedal quickly, the car dies.i can get the rpm to a little over 3,000rpm if I ease into it, but then the car will later die. I was able to drive the car in my neighborhood, and it made it to 3,500rpm before it began sputtering.

the timing is set, throttle position sensor is set, new rb25t maf.walbro 255lph fuel pumpgreddy intake mani, q54 tbam performance turbo elbow d/pngk 3330 spark plugs, factory gapped (not re-gapped) at .032" (0.813 mm)

after i noticed a huge puff of black smoke out of the muffler, i turned the car off and checked the NEW spark plugs. they were fouled and black. I cleaned them off with a wire brush and tried starting the car again, same results. and the plugs were fouled once again.

this means (yes i know, I'm captain obvious) it's running far too rich.

I am guessing the stock fuel pressure regulator could be a problem with the walbro 255lph? I have an AEM FPR that i previously used on my KA-T. I'm not sure if I should go ahead and install that and see if it helps any.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Thanks for the advice Carl, I appreciate your good help man.

Question: could the injectors, FPR, or coil-packs have anything to do with this occurrence?

I don't know man, when I had similar problems it turned out it was the MAFS but I did also replace my ignitor, TPS, temp sensor and MAFS all to track it down, and recently cleaned my ACC to finally get the car running right. At any rate those are somewhat common RB issues. So you know what to check next if it doesn't solve the problem, by the way temp sensor's aren't too pricey, I swapped to a KA one it was less then $5 at a parts store.
