Post your favorite old school games that you still love to break out the NES or Genesis for.

I personally love to play Mike Tyson's Puch Out, Megaman X, Kirby Super Star,

and of course A Link to the Past.

Huge Kirby fan here.Kirby and Adventure Island probably see the most use on my NES.I don't (and never did) own an SNES, but the system was home to some of my favorite games (which, between GBA ports and my Wii, I have most of).The Metroid series is another classic that has yet to get old. Metroid II and Super Metroid are my favorites.I prefer the older Megaman games to X and later. X was still a lot better than the latest ones, though.

Sim Tower rocked. I used to play it on my 486 Compaq laptop in school.

Still play Sonic II and Sonic 3D Blast on my Genesis. The Music from 3D blast is some of the best in any videogame ever. It's good enough that I'd listen to it in my car if I could get it on CD.

I love old RPGs. I still break out Bauldur's Gate occasionally.

Disclaimer: *I am NOT a D&D nerd, I have never played in my entire life! That is all.*

This man knows! I just picked up an Intellivision the other day along with 30 games for 20$. Brings back a lot of childhood memories. Best game would have to be TRON Deadly Discs and Burgertime.Man, im old.

Very few people seem to know what Wolf3D is anymore, props to you!

I dont know if I was too young for NES or my parents just never bought one. Suddenly one popped up at my grandma's house some how so I spent my days there playing three games:MarioDuck HuntTrack and Field (with the mat)

SNES: Super Mario RPGSuper Mario WorldHarvest MoonEarthboundTeenage Muntant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in TimePaperboyMortalKombat 1,2,3U

PC:SimCityDoom 1,2 (still play them when I'm bored. I remember being in second grade and drawing custom maps on paper when I was in class.)Wolf3DTanks Commander Keen gamesDuke Nukem (the original side scroller, christ that game was hard... no save points almost no sense of direction on some levels)

Man, you guys brought back the nostalgia! I totally forgot about Missle Command, Road Rash, RC Pro Am, and Tecmo Bowl. I'll have to edit my previous posts now.

EDIT: Damn, I forgot about Gauntlet on the PC, Atari, and NES.

Good thread. Since I like Sil40's format, I will steal it. Since I am too lazy to actually browse my collection downstairs, this is all to the best of my memory. Maybe later I will add to this.

In chronological order (to the extent of my memory, excluding PC which has survived all systems since SNES):

Sega Master System:Double DragonAlex Kidd: High Tech WorldRambo: First BloodAfter BurnerR-Type

SNES (never had an NES )Super Mario WorldSuper Mario All Stars (SMB 1, 2, 3, some lost worlds, and something else I think)Super Mario RPGFinal Fantasy 3/6Super MetroidStreet Fighter IIEarthboundMortal Kombat II(can't remember too more now, I will browse my collection later)

PSX:Final Fantasy 7Felony 11-79Final Fantasy 8Metal Gear SolidGran Turismo (of course)MUCH more I can't remember right now

N64:Goldeneye 007Perfect DarkPilotwingsConker's Bad Fur DayZelda: Occarina of timeZelda: Majora's Mask

Dreamcast:Crazy TaxiSilent ScopeSonic Adventure 2Crazy Taxi 2PHANTASY STAR ONLINE! (logged way too many hours into this game)Soldier of Fortune

PC (going real old-school here):Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter (first SW game I liked, and probably still like the best)SAM & MAX!Half-LifeUnreal Tournament (yeah, the first)Rainbow Six (again, yes the first, first game I ever played online)StarCraftCivilizationBaldur's GateQuakeQuake IIITribesMechWarrior IIMechCommanderCounter-StrikeSystem Shock 2Descent (yes, origonal game I played from DOS, may be the first 3D game I played)Again, there are way too many games to list. Out of all systems, I have played the most and logged the most hours on the computer.
