I never really played many Enix games, but then I can't think of too many of their games off the top of my head. I am a big Final Fantasy fan, and a big Legend of Mana fan, as well as a Chrono Trigger fan. I have played every FF released since X, and I have liked them all (yes,I even liked the girly X-2, it had a pretty good story...plus, the freaking Yuna as a Flower of DOOM, and paine with armor made of blades were pretty damn cool). I have also played a lot of the older FF's, like VII and IV and Tactics. As far as I'm concerned, they are just getting better. The new ATB combat system in X-2 is very nice. It adds a lot of challenge to battles and fits in well with the change-on-the-fly job-class system. Just wait until Bweep wakes up and sees this post. He's a real Square enthusiast--heh, sounds like its the sixties in Britain.
As for RPGs, I'm heading to Wal Mart right after work today to pick up a XBox and a copy of Fable. I just hope I can find a copy of Fable, since I've already tried one wal mart and they are all out.
I have, however, noticed some really sub-par titles coming out of what is now Square Enix. Like Drakengard. Should have been great. It was just ok. I think maybe they are trying to expand their influence beyond their well-known franchises. Bad idea, says I. Stick with tried and proven technique, and don't fix it if it ain't broke.
