Well my brother bought this 93 240sx that has been sitting for a while. Well it seems like the tags were last updated since 2003. We acquired the car last fall and has since put in a ca18det. It doesn't want to stay on, starts dies and it sounds like it misses. I put in 2.5 gallons of new gas since gauge read empty. I took out the fuel pump and it was rusted and looked like hell. So I put my walbro from my car in. Has a new 300zx fuel filter. Still no good. Took out the fuel line from the rail, primed it, and it poured out brownish fuel (like light oil). That is not normal is it?

you Need to get rid of all the old Fuel and put Fresh gasolin in. you sounds like you still have old fuel in the lines.

also It doesn't hurt to use SeaFoam It works great...

If there is "brown stuff" in the fuel rail, your injectors may be clogged. No amount of priming or flushing will help that if it's solid rust chunks.

I would pull the fuel rail and check the spray pattern of all injectors.
