So I bought this car for about $3000 from a friend about five months ago, only to have some kid pull across traffic the other day and rearrange my front end.

Overall though I had a good experience. I'd never been in a wreck before, he drove his vehicle away and even though he had insurance, I already expected to get screwed by his provider due to my older car.

Nontheless, they gave me more than I paid for the car, and took in account the suspension I had put on (tokico blues and eibach springs. After five days of searching on this forum, zilvia.net, and others, I couldn't find a car that was decent in price or matched the condition of my previous car.

My friend however found this car on craigslist.org, and I went and picked it up earlier on monday.

Overall it's a clean car, just needs new subframe bushings, needs an exhaust leak welded up (it's a gaping hole), it also needs to have some of my interior pieces taken from my old car and swapped over.

Either way, I think it was a nice find, and figured that I'd share this story with you all in case anyone has a wreck and doesn't think anything good could come from it.

a little back story..

my buddy bought the car in 07 and drove it around for a year as a auto, then we swapped in the 5 speed in the summer of 08, it had coilovers and ruca's wheels etc.. we swapped in the sr in october or nov.. i cant remember. his tags expired and we have emission and since its ob2 it couldnt pass.. so we put it back to stock (execpt the sr) and he traded it for a z28 camaro and that was the last i saw of it..

Its a great car that was well taken car of

And to you sir, thanks for the back story. it's got some nice parts on it for sure, and there are some things i would've done differently as well, but that'll all come with time.

it's getting circuit sports rear upper control arms, toe arms and subframe collars today for instance. Those subframe bushings are totally gone so I'm using the subframe from my white car as a starter for this upgrade.
