Well I'm on one of those threads so I'm here to tell you for about $100 you can buy the Bose radio with the CD player (came out of a pathfinder) and for about another $10 you can buy the adapter from Scotsdale to connect to the Q45 wiring. Very simple to install and no cutting of the dash or wires. Get on Ebay and do a search for Bose radio and you will see plenty of them.

FWIW, I know have the Pathfinder Bose HU in my 95 Q controlling the stock CD changer.
