Hi Everyone:

Long time lurker here. I recently read an article on The Truth About Cars lamenting the apparent demise of Infiniti. In that article, however, they also waxed poetic about the 90-96 Q45 (a position I wholeheartedly agree with - they kick a**).

Anyway, this got me thinking about an old short-take article in Automobile. At least, I'm 99% sure it was Automobile. It was kind of a hindsight piece, saying how cool the Q45 was/is. Also, the author talked about getting into an impromptu race with another early Q45 driver while he was driving one on the 405 Freeway in the middle of the night. He said something to the effect of, "This doesn't happen when you drive a Lexus."

Anyone remember this, or possibly have a scan of it? I've Googled and searched this site but didn't come up with anything. Thanks for your time.

:welcome: and thanks for finally posting!

I don't remember that article, but I'll see if I can find it. I was a subscriber to both Automombile and C&D back in the day, and before I tossed my stash of them I tried to cut out anything Infiniti related. No idea where I put that stuff though...

The article you linked is especially depressing... :(

Thanks, Heath. That would be awesome.

I'm still a huge fan of the cars. Indeed, a couple of years ago when I needed a big-ish 4-door in a hurry (my old back couldn't put the new kid in the back of the 1991 BMW 318is) I would have have jumped on a clean first-gen Q45 instead of my 1995 MB E320. Timing, as they say...
