this is seriously like one of the more asked questions and is easy to find the answer for. but ill try to help you anyways. all the s13 diffs have the fins if i remember correctly. jack up the car and look for an orange viscous lsd sticker. if you don't see one, try spinning one wheel by hand and see if the other one moves or not. (make sure your e-brake isn't up. if you don't see a sticker, and the other wheel doesn't move when you spin one then your diff is most likely open.

or a faster way to figure it out is to do rad nasty burnout and see if there 1 or 2 patches.

this also lol. but idk if it's true but i've heard that your other tire can sort of drag and make a patch also. but i guess if you did it long enough you would definitely notice a difference.

lift up rear, release e-brake, and spin one wheel. lsd's- both wheels spin the same way. open diff's- one wheel spins the exact opposite of the other. you were searching wrong my friend. i found out about lsd's and open diff's because i searched s13 lsd adn like 50 threads came up

You guys don't make any sense. Why would you lift up the WHOLE rear? Just jack up one side and see if you can spin a wheel.

FYI, if your car is perfectly straight, both wheels will spin under load.

^ probably because its just as easy to lift the whole rear: put jack under dif, and lift. unless you car is super slammed

When my bro's car had an open diff it would make 2 patches. Please do the other methods to be sure and also check your vin/min to see what options your car came with.
