ok yeah i just got my 240sx and i have a few questions

ok first of all please bare with me as i am a little intoxicated but i have been meaning to do this i just work wayy too much.. I jus got my 240sx its a 92 and has 135K miles on it but only like maybe 30k on this transmission.. but it shifts really hard and theres liek no acceloration. the shifting i had my dad and brothers look at bc i was wondering if it were my transmission ... as i said bare with me again bc i dont know crap about cars AND im intoxicated.. lol anyways my oldest bro said it was electric thats the reason its shifts that way my other bro said its cool bc 240sx have a lazy transmission.. my dad said its just the way i drive.. well i wanna know lol what the hell is it and secondly the acceloration blows.. but once it goes IT GOES.. i dunno can someone just explain to me whats going on with my car if they can kinda figure it out from that crappy description..? im just wondering bc its 13 yrs old and i am a college student and I want to know if I will need to invest alot of money in it.. but I still love it

auto or manual?does it have the proper level of fluid?240's do not have a "lazy transmission", and i have never heard of any car having one unless its describing automatic's in general due to the torque converter.

if you have an auto and it shifts hard...check the fluid level and conditioncheck that the dropping resistor is plugged in(by the airbox, says JECS on it)

check engine light on?

the check engine light is not on and it is an auto..

Ok i am sober now so i will better describe it.. when i go to even pull out of my driveway the acceloration is almost non exsistant. and it wont shift into second until like 25-30mph then again going into third at about 45-50 i dont know much about cars but i know thats not supposed to happenalso it idles at 1000rpms i thought it was supposed to be 1500rpms and it also kills on me when i put it in reverse i just want to know if it is worth fixing and if it is.. whats the prob.. everyone i have talked to said nissans are fairly easy and cheap to fix.. and its just soo damn sexy i love it.. i really want it to run good help please?

This may be the cause of your shift issue.

as for you poor acceleration you may want to start looking at MAF voltages ,tune up parts i.e. cap, rotor ,wires plugs...see what condition they are in.
