Car: '98 Altima '99 Altima '96 Sable crapped out, now searching for a 240

Post

ok so heres the deal ladies and gents..a little background this is actualy my dads car kinda but ive been driving it recently because my car is crapped out and i am just driving it til i get another car. he got it from his sister afther she bought her daughter a new car. and shes gotten into a few front end fender benders. its a98 altima and this chicago winter has gotten bitter and its been a bit rough on my car. well i dont really know wat the problem is but here are some details on it and the car. well the car has 133xxx on it. and its actually been in i beleive two front end accidents (my cousin drove it b4 me) and apperently the radiator was messed up or something. but recently i noticed that it needs to warm up for a very long time in order to drive. it also idles really low and sometimes stalls and dies. the engine doesnt warm up very well and often cools for no reason. also when the heater controls are set to the windsheild defrost it doenst heat very well and that also causes the idle to drop(ive actually watched the change)oh lets not forget about the exhaust leak lol. umm not sure if i got it all but thats alot as it is.

ummmm thanx for anyone who actually read all of that. and thanks to anyone who has any suggestions it would truly be appreciated.

The thermostat could be getting stuck open. That could explain the cold.

exhaust leak go tighten up the nuts and bolts down below or get a muffler shop to weld up a new muffler to make up for the hole in your muffler/piping.

stalling and dying, does it do that on startup too?

is the coolant level to the max? have you bled the system fully? head gasket problems will cause antifreeze loss if thats an issue. any loss indications( coloured snow under car)
