Hey guys..

If you've been on these forums for at least the past 3-4 months then you have heard me b***ing about my problems.

My windows automatically go down, and last 3-4 months they went down during rainfall, followed by a snowstorm. I had my car towed, and after 2 weeks fixed. AND after a month i got them to order me new interior parts that were damaged along with snow/ice mixture.

Now returning to real time.. I returned to my car yesterday to find that my windows were again, DOWN. I quickly checked if anything was stolen and thankfully, nothing was. I also realised that this bug in my car causes it to be unlocked/windows down. So if any theif wanted to , he could just open the door from the handle. (If it was locked, you would have to reach inside and unlock it, which would trigger an alarm) So, as i've heard from you guys before.. I've heard that some dealers actually dont "replace" parts, they just get lucky and things start working again. Am i a victim to this? I have my records infront of me and they had to order a key cylinder switch. "Key cylinder switch not receive 5colts of power, needs to be replaced". Thats what it says on maintenince records.

Or i could just be paranoid, because the windows didnt go down by themselves for another 3-4 months. But now, why me?? I hope they dont pull out some BS over my Injen intake interferring with the electrical part of the car.

Im glad all the snow storms are over, just a bit more snow on the way.. Im out to throw garbage bags over my windows. I cant use my car for another week.. and i dont get a shuttle.. I really am getting tired of this.

simple problem...is your key crowded in your pocket. because if you hold down the unlock key the window will roll down

Does your car have the auto up/down windows? Its a slim chance, but are you sure that the unlock button on the key isn't being pressed and held to cause the windows to roll down? I'm no electrician, but it seems that if they replaced a part that wasn't receiving the power it needed to function properly, then it worked for a while, and now it is broken again that there is a bigger issue with the cars wiring/electronics than the switch they replaced. Check your fuse box, maybe something in there is loose or damaged. If you take it back to the dealer, ask them to let you view the work that is being done on your car. Anyway, good luck getting it fixed.

The first time this happend to me , i thought i accidently held the unlock key for 7 seconds (highly unlikely) but, who would of thought?

Im 100% positive i didnt touch the key the past 3-4 times the windows came down, right now as im typung, my keys are sitting in the key tray in my house. If i look out of my house in about..1-2 hours, im going to have to run out there, push the button to on and then roll the windows up.

If its a bigger problem then my fuse box, im guessing it will take more then a week Ahhhh..... this sucks.

I
hmm just a switch not receiving the proper voltage wouldn't make things happen randomly. A switch only sends power another direction so that something can happen. For voltage not getting there it would make something not work. That really doesn't sounds like the solution to you problem for real.

It really does sound like a key FOB problem. Same thing was happening to my trunk popping open. I took it to the stealership and they reprogrammed the key and it has never happened since, and that was about 6 months ago.

Its not a key fob issue for sure.

The first time i discovered it (The most recent one) I was living in an apartment that is at least.. 10 minute walk from the parking lot.I am 100% sure the windows were closed when i was 5 mins away, which should be out of range of the fob.

Well im going to bring it in ASAP, ill keep you guys inforemd.Another issue with it right now is, the cars windows arent going down anymore.. As of today. I f***ing hate how this car is playing with me, its malfunctioning and then its not. If it isnt replicated for the dealership, nothings going to be done.. Just a waste of my time.

I'm betting it's the fact that the Canadian A/C's can get the official Nissan Wing's ....

Well, the only end all solution to make sure it doesnt happen when you leave your car is to disconnect the battery. What a pain that would be to hook that up everytime you park your car for a long time.

Can't they (dealer) disable the rolldown feature so your fab(key) can"t do it then if it happens again you know its the car??

lol, I think pulling the power window fuse would be easier and not mess with the radio/ clock ect...

To make sure it's not a FOB problem, remove the batteries from your FOBs for a week and simply use the key to enter the car. If the windows go down during that timeframe you will know 100% that it is not a FOB problem.

Does Canada have any lemon laws on the books?

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion if I were you. I thought the very same thing about the ghost opening my trunk at random times. I'd go to the gym, shopping, or wherever, and when I come back my trunk would be open, exposing my sub and amp! I even posted a thread about it maybe 7-8 months ago. Took my car in and what do you know, they said they couldn't find anything wrong. Go figure! But, the did reprogram the FOB and guess what? It never happened again.

My money is on your FOB from what you describe, and from what I've experienced. Take it in ASAP.

well it happened to me like 20 or thirty times. all the dealership and all they could say to me was "o umm ya you shouldn't put your keys in your pocket", ....and my alarm would go off in the middle of the night while i was sleeping, i would run out there to check, but there was nothing wrong... i went to the dealership and they had my car on two different times but at the end they gave me a new set of keys and a new reciever in the car and it hasn't happened again(knock on wood) hope it all works out for you man

How about opening the Key Fob? It could be just Dirty or Lose, what about replacing the Battery. How about resetting the ECU?

These may not make sense, just putting some ideas out there. Good luck.

Two days ago I was driving home from Oakville and it was raining quite heavily and all of a sudden the car tells me my trunk is open!!....First time that has happened to me...I had the key in my pocket so I'm hoping it was just a fluke and I opened it by accident.....I don't think I can stand another stupid problem!!!

Canada doesnt have a lemon law.. The only way you can EVER get another car from a dealership around here is if your car doesnt move. IE at least 10 000$+ in manufaturer defects.

Yeah, im going into the dealership to get the fobs reprogrammed, so much for intelligent key.

BTW, on other news.. My seat replacement actually turned out to be my old seat.. I waited 4 months for the dealership to order in the NEW seat from Japan. It turned out they repaired my seat instead of ordering a new one.. going to talk to them today about that one.
