Close Dangeris lives in PA not VA.

Hmm i would move to HI if i had the choice, unless you are close to your family.

500,000? what is 5k to 6k?

My aunt lives in VA. She seems to like it there. Most people are going to tell you to choose Hawaii though. But that's because they think of it as a vacation spot. If you think about it though, most people hate tourist towns after living in them for a few years. Will you be moving there permanently or just a few years?

That 5-6k income increase from moving to hawaii will be almost washed out by the fact that everything over there costs about 10-20% more than stateside (shipping FTL...)...but you get to live in paradise, not to mention being a manager, which helps with any future jobs that you are going to have.

VA is a nice state, except the cops suck.

There is a bunch of us up in Northern VA outside of DC.. Richmond is probably about 2 hours away or so from NOVA depending on traffic. I don't know much about the Richmond area but what I can tell you is I-95 in VA can be absolutely awful at times (more specifically between the beltway and Richmond). You'll also be only about 2 hours away from VA Beach.

I've been in Va for most of my life. I love it here. I've moved around a couple of times. Richmond is nice, that is if you live in the nice parts. There is A LOT of coupes that ive seen around but still a decent amount on this forum. Plus, correct me if im wrong but i think the cost of living is less here than in HI. I say go with Va!

If it's only temporary, 6 months or so, look at it as a great time to relax in paradise (HI). I've been there on vacation 3 times so far (this summer will make it 4). Yes, it's overcrowded, but it's still fantastic. Where in HI would you be located? Locals know how to get away from tourists no matter what city you're in.<-- grew up in nyc

If it's more permanent, say indefinite, then you also gotta think about your friends and family and such. You might have the best intentions of staying in touch, but time and distance will make it tough.

Being a manager is always a plus. Stay away from shipping a lot of stuff in. Cost of living might be higher, but think of the life!

That said, I've got nothing bad to say about VA, but my vote would be HI hands down!
