ok to unplug intake temp sensor (or ait?) sohc 89?

Dang it, the intake I bought bolts directly to the maf, which leaves no room for the intake sensor/ait or whatever it is that came w/ the lower compression sohc's.

Is it ok to unplug this? CEL?
