Hi, HeavyDuty!
Thanks for the CD! By the way, I figured out how to run it from the hard disk without having the CD in the CD reader. Here are the instructions ...
1. Start by making sure that you have enough space on the hard drive (about 233MBytes) for the CD information. You also need another 32MBytes for the program installation itself. If you do not have enough hard disk space, it is time for a few dollars for a Christmas gift of another hard drive!
2. If you already have the program installed, de-install it. This may not be needed, but it is safer. You can de-install by using the "Add-Remove Programs" capability of the Windows OS version you are using and remove the "Nissan FAST" application.
3. Copy the CD tree to a directory on the hard drive. Pick a careful name - do not use the same name as the default that the installed program uses. Make sure that you get the whole tree properly. I used the DOS Prompt command and the "xcopy" program manually typed for this function (the CD drive is D and the second is my directory name that I chose to store these files into):xcopy /s/e/v/c/i/h/r/k/o/x "D:" "C:\zh\Infiniti\Parts"This command will create a tree in that location. Note that some of the options to the xcopy command are not available in all Windows version - just leave them out if you get an error that they do not exist.
Of course, there are other ways to copy the tree!
4. Follow the instructions you received with the CD and install the FAST program. Use the hard disk setup.exe program in the FASTPROG\WIN2000\SETUP\ directory rather than install from the CD. (Remove the CD from the system first if you want to be anal about it

) I do not like the default program installation directory name (C:\Nissan) so I put it elsewhere, but this is personal preference. Just remember wherever you decide to put it. In my case, I picked "C:\zh\Nissan".
5. Change default directory in a DOS prompt to that program installation directory, and/or run your text editor and edit the following file:
NSFASTKY.INI
Do NOT use a word processing program unless you know how to save this file back as a text file! Use a normal text editor if you can.
6. Change one line (last line of the three shown here) that reads like this:[CDROM]Drive_Max=1Drive1=C:\ to make it read as follows:[CDROM]Drive_Max=1Drive1=C:\ZH\Infiniti\Parts where the directory name is what you picked to copy the original CD information into, not the program installation directory. The red text above shows the change I made!
Then execute the FAST program and enjoy!
Thanks again!
