You sound like a newbie so i will act like you know nothing..sorry if you do know things and your offended. Switchign to a manual for one is not a "modification" but it is a really good idea seeing as auto 240s are not much better then civics. Yes you can swap to a manual transmission from your ka24de fairly simply. You will have to call around junkyards and near you and see if you can get one that wants to sell a transmission but not the engine with it. Make sure it has low mileage becuase you dont want to get a busted *** one that ive been powershifting into second everytime i go up the street. If you find one that looks good...(try not to pay over 200 dollars because intall will run you) buy it, but most yards want to sell engine and transmission together. Either way once youve got one the installation is the hard part..its relativley simple to hookup the transmission.jack it up under there and bolt it on youll probably want to buy a new clutch...which is exspensive. Then you will have to add a clutch fluid "thing" which you can also get at the junkyard add a clutch pedal which..get that done at a shop because you could really mess something up. Anyway If you think that sounds like trash just buy an sr20 and take its stock five speed. Also if you look at 240sx.org there is a section in the faq that shows you how to disable the "comfy shift" feature on your auto transmission. which can help alot to.

I'm so confused. Who the heck is he talking to? Aren't there already plenty of posts about switching auto to manual?

Also, putting in a manual transmission is a modification if you didn't have one before. If you change something from it's original state, by definition it is a modification.

No offense, but that post made my head hurt.
