I got a front clip from venus and its in a lot better shape than i thought it would be. It took a little while to get the clip though cause they kept giving me the run around. I sent in a down payment to get a clip reserved but apparently i wasn't speedy enough in coming up with the rest of it (one week) and so they sold the clip and i had to wait for another. Mind you i stayed in constant contact with them for the whole week. On top of that it was quite hard to get a hold of them and viki was only one who seemed like she knew what was going on. Other than that i got my clip and its in good condition. I couldn't have asked for more!

I had similar problems with Venus. My motor was late, and they would never reply to calls/emails until I started threatening them. It came with a dented oil pan, bent/split transmission plate, several smashed/cracked connectors on the harness, and a pilot converter (auto transmission part) on the back of the motor instead of a pilot bushing for a manual transmission. They sent me a new oil pan a month later, and the wrong transmission plate about a week later. I had to have the original transmission plate welded and straightened. I also had to rent a slide hammer to pull out the pilot converter, and when I called them, they said "well, it's not really our fault...can't you just pull it out?". Other than that, it was in great shape :rolleyes . I'd buy from Jarco if I were you.

Well, It look like Venus is the only game in town when it comes to CAs, But I might do somthing diffrent with Jarco though becouse they have always had good service when I bought a bumper from them.

my first motor came from venus auto. their shipping company sucks major balls though. i requested a liftgate cuz how the hell else are you gonna get an 1100lb thing off a truck. the company came to my friends house twice on the wrong dates without the liftgate. not venus's fault though. after i put the engine in(the first weekend i got it) , i took the head off to check it out and there was a shattered piston. i was really pissed so i wrote them an e-mail explaining the situation, i then spoke to vicki and ronald on the phone and they handled it by giving me a full refund as well as shipping, and a $300 credit in case I want to buy something later. I would definately deal with them again seeing as they handled the problem well.

I got my front clip from them and I didn't have any major problems. The FICD solenoid was broken, but they had already sent me one with the clip. I too had asked for a lift gate and didn't get one, but once again, not Venus's fault. Other than that, I did the swap in 4 days, start to finish, and it started the first time. Now that I've done it, I know I could do it again in probabally a weekend. The customer service does suck, but when they are pretty much the only people you can reliably get a CA from, what are you gonna do? I also tried to get a CA from Jarco, but they said they are hard to find and they've only actually gotten one ever.

I ordered mine from Karim at R390 sports, really good service and references. Put down 20% and the rest is COD,that way I can check out the motor when it arrives, also has a 30 day warranty. Just waiting for it now 6-18 weeks for shipping, motor comes with everything ready to drop in,also he told me that since I got his last CA he might throw in some extra intercooler parts and fuel pump. Good luck on your search, took me awhile to track one down.

Me and my friend Mikie got ours from Venus. Low miles. Pretty decent. It really does seem like Japanese people don't change their oil often, though. Anyway, no problems with either engine so far.

Alfred, I hear ya on the oil change thing. Mine wasn't nearly as nice and shiny on the inside as I would have liked. Oh well, it's running like a champ now anyway.

I actually visited venus auto when i went to go see my cousins in sacramento...

it was pretty cool they were pretty nice and they had 3 ca18 front clips i checked them out they were pretty clean

but damn i have never seen so many SR's in one place it amazed me...

but form what i hear...its your luck whether the engines re good or bad... but when they are bad they seem to do something about it quick... like send replacement part.. refund etc...

i would buy from them

I did buy from them and I'm driving the car. I think that speaks for itself.
