ok so i came home from work today and drove the car like normal. a few hours later i get back in the and i try to push the clutch to start the car and theres barely any pressure. i start to go down the street and the pressure on the clutch starts getting weaker and weaker, untill i made the decision to turn back. when i was about 50 yards from my house there was no pressure on the clutch what so ever. i hade to glide into my driveway :[

ok so im thinking my pressure plate is done. my clutch has been slipping for like a month thats what leads me to believe its something down there. so anyways, my someone tells me that a finger could have broke on the pressure plate and it could fall and mess everything up inside, and scratch the flywheel and what not. i was wondering if a finger has to break for the pressure plate to go out? and you think it could have done any damage on a total of 400 yards? or what else could have gone wrong?

I had a kind of similar experience with my 90 300zx. My master cylinder on the fire wall was leaking and my clutch fluid res was out of fluid. I replaced the master and the fire wall and it was still slipping. come to find out they didnt adjust my clutch pedal pin wich comes through the firewall to the pedal. get under there and check some stuff out. honoestly it ould be a bunch of stuff. When all else fails just replace everything I ended up spending about $1500 on parts and **** to fix my 300. but thats a 300 not a 240.

yah that could be too, but what leads me to believe is the pressure plate its because my clutch was slipping and i adjusted the the pedal last week, also i looked and the resevoir its filled up max.

Check the slave cylinder. It is possible it burst a seal. The rubber boot will actually hold the fluid, but the pushrod will not have enough pressure to actually move it.Always check the easy obvious things first, then start throwing the money at it.

first check your master cylinder, then slave cylinder and see if they are leaking/ broken/ need of replacement. Bleed the system. For clutch write up go to 240sxtech.comdid you remove your clutch dampened?

I agree with everyone else. It has got to be a problem with the master/slave cylinder.

I have had this problem on my accord. I checked the cylinders then bled the system. Everything worked fine afterwards.

Remove your dampener, that was my problem... You dont need it, all i does is makes your clutch pedal feel loose and gives it too much play. http://garage.projectraine.com....html

Ya should be an easy fix. Just check for leaks, make sure the salve cylinder is moving and not leaking fluid. Delete the damper box and bend the hard line around to connect to the clutch hose. Dont worry if your screw up the hard line you can easly get a brake line off a 240 at the junk yard. All you gotta do is rebend the line.
