my 240 started making this weird knocking noise about 2 weeks ago and finally i had the time to take it to the automotive shop on post. my fly wheel was loose and i remember tourqeing them all to spec before the install. what could cause this?

I was in the automotive industry for better part of a few years but it could be that the bolts are only meant to be torqued once (by the factory)I don't know for sure though, head bolts usually have this feature.

Wtf??? That's not it! Bolts stretch yes but the amount of torque applied to them by factory I highly doubt exceeds the elastic limit of the bolt. You probably didn't torque it with a calibrated torque wrench and you figured "oh this is a torque wrench it's accurate"

well i know that it has to be calibrated. being in the army we have them calibrated once a year bc som soldiers dont know how to take care of tools.
