Hey everybody.. I recently posted about my clutch slipping and finally got it fixed. Due to the timing and since it is my commuter car, I had to get it replaced asap. Got the OEM clutch back in and it feels pretty stiff than before. This is the second day I've got my car back and have been driving it conservatively but still smell the clutch burning. Dont know if this is a normal issue when replacing a new clutch or if something went wrong with the install. Anybody else that has changed their clutch experience the same concern? Thanks.

When I replaced my clutch and flywheel, I went with an aftermarket setup. Stage 4 clutch and lightweight flywheel. It was very hard to drive at first...but I don't remember any burning clutch smell. I'd see how it is after a week. A new clutch will need a few hundred miles to break in.

I'd make sure that the pedal is adjusted properly. It's very possible that the clutch isn't fully disengaging when you depress the pedal.

Yeah check the free play. When I replaced mine I had no smell issues using stock replacement parts. If it is the free play, I hope that it hasn't had a chance to glaze over.

Free play is adjustable off of the pedal. Check the FSM here http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM

I believe you need a couple of open ended wrenches to do it.
