Pics of the "new" 'vert... She's a '92, that had seen better days...

170K miles, 5-speed conversion, interior demolished, bad top, lame wheels, dead tires, cut springs, fartcan muffler attached with clamps, melted rear bumper, goofy seat covers, goofy steering wheel, goofy shift knob, and some miserably ill-advised wiring modifications for God-knows-what-reason...

The good news? Came with a 68K mile S14 KA on a stand, and it was cheap.

Tried to get some pics before we started gutting it, but camera was on the fritz...

Here's the carnage:

Plans:

Super low-budget restorationEbay seat coversCoupe doors (got 'em)New door panels (got 'em)One new fenderDash cover (from our new source)Seatbelt conversionStock steering wheelWingless trunk (got it)Powdercoat wheels gloss black235/40/17 tires (looking for used)New carpetNew topRepaint Aztec RedTein S-Techs / KYB GR-2's (used, installed today)4.36 rearend (from my black vert)Install S14 KAHeader (looking for a HotShot, used)Homemade CAIHomemade FSTB

I'll keep everyone updated, my son Hunter and I (and our little guy, Darian) have been busting our butts, gutting, disassembling, cleaning and replacing... Should be a fun little car when done.

Well it's about time you posted the pics

Red verts FTW!!! Looks like a lot of work needs to be done but it's a nice project car you got there.

If it didn't come with another KA, I would have suggested an LS1 be dropped into it...something sorta different ya know?

Are we gonna be seeing a dual trip BRM exhaust and a rollcage from FRSport?

HELL YEAH! That's great to see Hunter getting into the mix! Dar was always there to lend a helping hand, or advice, or the friendly "Hondas SUCK" comment.

Is this car going to be for your son? If so its cool all of you guys are working on it together and I imagine the turn out will be a very clean vert.

if it was a different red, i'd agree, but aztec red has got to be the ugliest red ive seen, thats why my hatch ended up flat black and my vert is gonna end up viper red.

that being said, i commend you for repainting it to factory, its rare to see a fresh coat of aztec red on a 14 year old car...

Well, I'll actually probably select something with a little less yellow in it... Maybe Guards Red.

Fresh Aztec looks pretty decent. When it gets old, it starts looking boring because red fades quickly.
