Anyhow - DOES NOT have "BMW like" ride. I've ridden in late model BMWs and they are much more compliant. My car rides like, well, a lowered car. Not as bad as some of those slammed cars that bouce all over the place but definitely not a luxury/sport ride. It's not bad until you hit significant dips (which there are plenty here in LA). Basically the CA Custom springs really change the character of the ride.
Also my front end it a bit too low (zero fender gap) while the back end sits a good inch higher. Back end is actually perfect height while front is too low for my taste. Makes my Q appear as if it's nose diving.
On the plus side, I'm getting significantly better MPG (never got better than 16MPG, usually 15MPG communting and now it's looking more like 18-19MPG.
Glad to hear you got the Conversion done Tom..Cudos to you and Jay!! Did you have fun doing it? Zero fender clearance in front?? Sounds funny. The tokicos mounted correctly? Did you adj them at all??
I've been riding on my Cali's for say about 3 1/2 k now maybe allot more I can't remember, but I'm completely used to them now. A bit more harsh when going from the "active", but still much better then other lowering springs to be sure. No maint. issues at all and no ill effects except knowing my front end won't fit over the curb anymore. Did you get the SPL Subframe spacers and collars as well? I'd get those, then do both at the same time. I can hit upwards of 100 mph around some nasty curves here and not even hear any cringes or pops in my suspension. Nice and tight!
