i just bought a 89 240sx and it has a blown motor me and my father are starting a project car and we want it to be "fast" lol i think the motor of choice would be a sr20det but how hard would it be to put in and what all would i have to change to make it work and on e thing i want to know is how fast 1/4 does a 240 with a stock sr20det run ?? sorry for the stupid noob questions but bare with me thanks

High 14s. Like 14.8-14.9. For all the hype, the SR really isn't that fast stock.

but how hard is it to put the motor in??? and how much work do you think it would be to make a 240sx beat a trans am ws6?

the motor is a direct drop in far as the mounting then you will need to mod your ecu/harness or harness/get an sr20 ecu. Also the other option would be a stand alone ecu.

As for stomping on big v8's doog luck with a stock whatever unless you go 5.6 from a titan. All honesty I say ka-big *** T ftw. Dont try na unless pop's has big friendly wallet, even turbo you will be looking at a few G's to get close, dont get me wrong I have seen an sr take a camaro on spray,and better yet I've seen a ka-T kill an 06 z06. Boost is a great thing. Also full strip/light windows/windshield and a c/f hatch/hood combo to lighten the load more or just remove that **** like my neighbor used to do in his mx3 woot woot
