I'm an opniniated bastard, so I think I will have a shot on my impressions of the new NICO. Take in mind: I spend about 4-6 hours in a day parusing NICO. I pretty much only get online to check email and eBay and come to NICO.

1: I don't like how you can no longer see a list of members online or viewing a forum

2: I like the "Online"/"Offline" below the avater. Nice touch.

3: I like the rating system. Keeps folks in line.

4: CA has dropped from 3rd to 4th listed under Engine Talk in the main forum index.

5: I like the pop up "Reply" button more than the Quick Reply. Makes checking back over the whole thread before you hit the Ok button that much easier (hint-hint)

6: I like how the software is noticibly different, but the general layout is the same to be nice to existing members.

7: Greg, I'll take your word on the reappearance of Member's Rides in leiu of making a comment here

8: User Control panel own3s j00 Seriously, it is really great! Makes everything soooo much easier to change or update.

9: We lost a lot of threads it looks like (I know at least the CA forum did). Kinda makes the search button worthless, as all the searchable data is now gone. I know in CA specific, we lost a LOT of really good and needed info that made my swap SOOOO much easier.

All in all, I like our new home. The forum is easier to navigate, and setup is a breeze. But some of the ol vB code is missed be at least me.

You can still do that. Just do a search, and type in that user's username, and click on the search for posts by this user, then click search.

I like the old NICO basically, but I like not getting hacked too. It's a fair trade. This will grow on me more and more.

For the 100th time, yes, they'll be back. They are working on them.

I gotta disagree on one thing.

I miss the Fred Quick Reply box terribly. I have to turn off my pop up stopper in order to post now (unless I go through that whole set of screens).

Oh, and the sigs used to only appear after the first post by anyone, I liked that feature cause it reduced clutter on the screen, particularly when people have large sigs (myself included).

Honestly, I'm getting a bit lazy as of late and not going back and turning off my sig after I post a second time...

I like having them there once. Often I find something interesting in one and check it out.

My *ahem* *cough* boyfriend still can't sign in AZ! When you sent me that email it worked that one time. Now when he tries to log-in himself, with the same pw, and username it doesn't work.

I see how it is, no one want's Sky's bf to be on the site, because it would cause massive emotional trauma to all the leg-humpers. NOESSSS!!!!1

LOL!

Down with the evil BF of our fair Christine!

That's weird. Dunno, maybe Nick/Torry (non-retards) can figure it out.

btw greg.... ummmmmm the quote system has been acting funny resently. When you hit quote nothing is there. Then i hit quote agian and while im typing the quote pastes after everything is done loading.

I think the code needs to be changed to have the quote load before the website is done.

I JUST noticed that myself, and also just emailed Mike (our new web guy) about it. I think what happened is because the quote button was just added, it's script is after the script for the ad system, so it loads the ads first and then the quote. We'll get that fixed soon, don't worry, it's driving me nuts too.

The only thing I miss was the list of most recent posts, regardless of what forum it was in. Unless I've just totally missed it
