OK, my fan will NOT fit. At all.

Well, after mounting the radiator and engine in the car, there is absolutely no way, whatsoever, that I'm going to be able to fit my fan (or any fan, for that matter) between the engine and the radiator. I'm using stock R32 mounts/Xmember, the slightly larger RB20DET radiator, and an FAL #120 12" fan that flows 1200CFM. The fan is the lowest profile I could find (about 2 1/2", if I remember correctly), and there is no way in hell it's fitting, at all. I don't think I'd even have enough room if I used the thinner KA24 radiator :(

What can I do??? Run with no fans?? It's starting to get warm outside and there's a lot of traffic around here, so I doubt I have that option. Is there any way I can get around overheating without using a fan between the engine and radiator? Would a better thermostat help out? Help, pleeeeeeeze :(

Put them on the outside and use them as pushers, no big deal.

Take a look at the "what fans are you running" thread. I posted pics of how I did my install. That should help you out.

Nice install, looks like that would work out pretty well for me. I would have to modify my fan a bit though (it's a puller fan; I know I would simply mount it on the other side of the radiator to make it a pusher, but the way the fan is designed, it looks a bit tough to do that).

So I guess it's either use pusher fans, ditch the A/C and have my car run nice and cool, or keep the A/C and overheat the engine?

You COULD put the fans on the outside of the condenser, but seels like it's just askin for trouble. When you change your fans to pushers, you'll either have to switch the blades around, or switch the polarity so they spin the other way. Check with the manufacturer on which one to do with your fans (unless someone here is using the same ones and can tell you).

Yep, what gabossie said.

Problem is that I believe that with the FAL fans are reversible, which is why I ended up not using the ones I had.

You *should* be able to mount them in front of the condenser and keep A/C without overheating. Just pay attention to detail. Make circular shrouds to keep the fan air from just blowing off the blades radially, and put a circular piece of foam between the radiator and condenser where the fan air should be flowing to keep it from going out sideways after going thru the condenser.
