ok just got my car started again but now i got big problem

it starts then dies, but it knocks when it dies but not when i first starts only when it starts to die. are the valve bent

if it is knocking then it shouldn't have affected the valves, but we all know that weird stuff could happen, why don't you try to keep it on with the throttle and see if the knocking persists while it is on.
