i bought my 300 from some shady place for only 3400. they said it ran good and it looked fine...all that came crashing down when i tried to get new tires.. this place called american tire put new tires on for me and the damn tie rods fell out, so i hadda repair that also when i got it back my steering wheel was crooked (yall might remember me bitching about that) so last week i took it to some place to fix it...they fixed all my bent parts under the car...when i got it back my steering wheel was still crooked a lil bit and my airbag light was blinking...so i took it back to get that fixed...when i got it back it was fixed a lil bit but it stil had the same problem then what i had 1st when i took it and got the car back the first time from this place....when i turn right, it turns and pulls to the right like a strong pull for just a second then it turns normal...when i come out of the turn my steering wheel is straight....when i turn left it does the same pulling thing and i come out and the steering wheel is crooked again..ive spent 1300 fixing the car in all and its up for sale now for only 3500....makes me mad cause i bought it for 3400 before all the repairs....1st. what might the problem be 2nd. someone please buy this car from me!

Yup....worth the extra money to buy a clean solid car in the first place. You get what you pay for.

My 240 does the same turning thing. It's a bent piece in the front steering setup. It's after the steering box, but before the tie rod.

Ok, a Used car can be a way better investment then a new car.

But there is one thing that most people over look. The price of repairs.

When you are looking for a used car that is 5 years or older, ASSUME that every suspension part has to be replaced. If the car is known to have engine problems, assume that the engine must be replaced.

If you would do these things^^^ immediately after buying the car, you would find that your money actually fixed the problem. Because you are not continuosly chasing around a problem. Just replace everything at once, it will save you money in the long run!!!

Exactly what he said ^

Issues WILL come up when you by a used car.

I bought my car privately, I had the owner agree to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic of my choice. Since i was out of state, i simply took it to Firestone and had them do an over-all inspection. I found out from them that i needed rear rotors/pads replaced, and a ball-joint replaced. I test drove the car on the highway, took it up to 90mph, and i bought it because the stuff that was wrong was normal wear/tear. The point i'm making is that you didn't take any precautions, because they are in your best interest. You must not take anyones' word for it! As soon as you mention to the person selling the car that your'e taking the car to have it inspected before you buy it, it puts them a notch below you--because whatever they said to you will be tested by an independent source.

It sounds like you had alignment issues, also, if you did research on 300zx's you'd find they have a very high part replacement cost--they were in the high $30k's when new.

Sorry this had to happen to you, but like you said, you bought a car from a "shady place..."

it surely won't be the last time you'll have stuff like this.

the good in cars usually outweigh the bad.

Listen to me on it kid, I'm a Ford driver.
