Hey, yesterday, I almost had a nervous breakdown because my interior got a hole in it... It's about the size a pen would make. I was putting my computer in the passenger seat and it happened...I freaked out... anyway, it's on the passenger side door, just inside the window. It busted through the fake leather... Does anyone know how much it would take to replace? I'm guessing it's not a repairable type of thing.

The second pic is a bit blurry, but you can see the hole a little better in the reflection.

p.s. Yeah, I know the rubber piece is off around the window, I need to take my door off for my speakers again, anyway...

That's a super-easy fix. Vinyl repair.

You can buy a kit at Pep Boys for vinyl repair. Includes several colors you can mix to get the right hue. It's got a metal iron and texture sheets to get it just right.

Costs like $15 or so. You basically fill in the hole then you take this metal iron thing and get it SUPER hot and put the texture on top of it and literally cook the stuff into the vinyl.

It works great and should solve your problem. If you're not confident, a decent upholstery shop could do it for $50 or so. Takes about 5 minutes.

a little FYI, I would leave it as it is. My friend used that vinal repair stuff and it looked worse than before just because the color's can never be the same.

Like I said, if you're not comfortable with it, have a professional do it. It won't be that expensive for a spot that small.

I've done it myself and mixed my own dye and it looked super. The kit I bought had a list of different vehicles and their colors and precise mix ratios.

I'm going to look for a link to this stuff I had...it was the same stuff you used to see on the infomercials back in the day. It actually worked very well for me.

Good to know a shop can fix it.

I have a tiny tear in my driver-side door card, and I thought I'd have to purchase a whole new one.

theres a local shop (non-automotive) that makes embroidery and t-shirts and the managers son (friend fo mine) took off his door panel let them have it for a day and they fixed a gaping hole that was torn by something

edit: from what i understand it was relatively cheap too, even for having a relative work there
