I think I will be going with the uber played out FN's in the 17x9 +20 variety. I decided on a 235/45/17 tire, these sizes are all the way around. I would like to run a slight stretch. The only question I have is what tires strech well. I had my eye on the Federal SS-595. I had them on my Z28, plety of traction and nice look sans the pricetag. But I dont think they will stretch and be safe/look decent. I know the Falken FK451's stretch, but I was looking for something different.Any suggestions on the wheels or the tires?

By the way I have a base model S14 with Megan Racing Coilovers and 4 lug (the reason I chose the FN's)

235/40/17

45 series is tall in my opinion. the black car with the falken hanabi runs 45 series.

heres my car with 40 series. http://i44.photobucket.com/alb...7.jpg

its your choice though. i wouldn't get fn01rc if my life depended on it. i'd recommend you go save up for 5 lug hubs and get atleast work emotion. those are the lowest cost wheels you can get...

tire choices. i buy max summer tires so no cheapies for me. on budget in order lowest price-high. hankook z212, falken rt615, kumho mx, then good year gsd3, michelin pilot ps2, bfg kd, potenza s03 or re01r, advan ad07.

don't worry about what tires stretch well. 235 is within 9" range still. i'd recommend some ultra high performance tires at the minimum. avoid all seasons the sidewal may be too soft. might damage lip.

actually, the thread discussing that car is what provoked my decision to go with the 235/45. I dont want rubber bands but I dont want hot rod wheels.I think I will try it with the 235/45 and go from there. I am worried though that the wheels I want, the 17x9 FN's +12 all the way around will fit. I have searched and every thread the first guy to reply says the good ole addage "try the search button". No one has really stated wether or not the +12's will fit and look good. Most of the threads were for the S13 though. I havent seen one pic of an S14 with the 17x9 +12 FN's.

Federals will stretch fine, my buddy put 235 stretched federal on his 9.5" rim. Don't even look that stretched (probably because I used to run 225 on my 9, haha. Currently on special too! hoo hoo, super cheap & sticky for the win (a lil heavy, but who cares).

so emperor you like 45 series? my eyes can't adjust to it. its too bighere is a shot of a 40 series on a 9 again. sorry the angle sucks http://i44.photobucket.com/alb...9.jpg

215 40 looks like a rubber band but 235/40/17 is not bad. if only s13s can fit 10s all around easily without overdoing the camber or pulling/wide fenders =/ then i'd run 255/40 all around lol

thanks greg. i'll uploaded some different angles on there but they're all old pictures. lowered height and changed camber settings. try to get some new ones up soon. Soon you'll grow into the super low ride height big body kit styling soon haha. i need my car lower and new aero. just dig through the bucket http://s44.photobucket.com/albums/f22/Juujai2/

Which Federal model was your friend using?

Also, anyone care to weigh in on the wheels?

Id go with 235/45. Im running the Khumo MX's right now, and for the price they are definately the best performing tire out there. I would highly reccomend them.

I was actually looking at those but I have decided on a different route. There is a GB on Zilvia for FN's and another one for Federal SS595's. $60 ea. plus 15 per tire shipping. 300 bones is not bad for tires, the tires on my Z28 are like almost 200 a piece.

Also, if you are in the market for the 4 lug 17x9 +20 FN01RC's head to Zilvia.net and get in line for the Group Buy. We need 4 more people to make this happen. Its a great price! im looking at 1130 for FN's and tires. Shipped. Not bad at all.PM me for more info.
