I have been trying and trying but, no go.

My 94 Q45t does not start. It just won't.

I have tested & replaced my starter solenoid and starter relay. My battery is less than 2 years old, also tested that with good results.

What if anything do you hear when trying to start?

Does it turn over at all?

Any problem with the alarm?

Happpy Holidays, Paul.

Are we looking at a no-crank or a no start scenario? my guess its a no-crank.

Have you tried starting in neutral. My safety switch is getting funky and no always allowing the car to start in park (happened i think 2 times out of the last 30 crank)

How are the battery clamps? I had a similar random no crank problem and put in new starter only to find out the battery cable clamp was corroded and not tightening properly.

I hear the clicking from the starter relay. I also hear a light humm from the fuel pump when i turn the key. All which is normal.... but the starter doesn't even crank.

My remote key stopped working 3 days before my car stopped starting, but the remote still works, I can hear the beeps.

The neutral thing... I know what your talkin about man i just tried that right now man i was hoping it would work

The car gets power and all... The battery is rated 700 cold cranking amps but ranked 559cca on the test. I know thats about the weather making the clamps expand. But do you think its the battery?

Once recently I noticed the lights dimming while I was playing my music with a subwoofer in. But 600watts max isn't that much power and the amp is set low as possible.

I don't know if its the security system but me and a friend tried all kinds of combinations to see if that was it.

My friend was tellin me how he installed a JDM engine in his 300zx and it wouldn't start, so they replaced the CAS and it worked.I tried that today from a 7/94 Q45 but it didn't help. Also mine has 2 extra wires out the side. Found out my 94 is actually a redesigned 11/93 so I have two 93 Q45's yeaa!!

So I am out of ideas. What could it be? I am gonna try the battery from my other Q45. I have another 94 ECU that I could try but thsoe are things that I don't think will help. Unfortunately I don't have a consult and I cannot get a hold of an OBD1 reader.

A Consult will not help you with your problem as the engine must be running for 99% of its functions.

Good electronic skills and a VOM are all that is required.

CAS are very robust especially in the cranking and low rpm mode where their are backups.

One normally checks to see if injectors are function [current draw thru injector fuse] same with coils charging and discharging.

Manually apply +12 to starter solenoid with jumper wire................probably just a failed bad starter.

I like the battery cable idea and I wouldn't be against swapping the battery as well.

Don't start replacing parts unless they are easy, cheap and are parts that often fail (like a battery). Your firends problem and solution has little to offer you unless you just swapped engines.
