I've been eyeing S14's for quite a while, and decided to start looking more seriously. Found a car I like.

96 Std with 37k on the clock. 5spd.

Ran the VIN, car checks out, no problems.

I asked him if the car had been in any accidents, he said yes. Rear passenger side had been tapped, said the panels werent replaced but 'filled'. I am not very familiar with this body repair term, so wondering what I should be looking for or looking out for.

He's asking 7950 by the way (thoughts?)

heres a pic. Thanks for any help. I'll be driving a few hours next sunday to check her out.

damn good deal, buy it. obviously he takes care of it if there's only 37k in 7 years. unless there was something terribly wrong with it, which it sounds like there wasn't.

Definitely sounds like a good deal...especially considering my '96 has 123k miles on it. :(

I'd for sure go check it out.

Looks good, that low mileage is incredible. Good find i think. Not a bad price either, if there isn't anything wrong get it!

Looks pretty nice from the picture. Did the owner say why he was selling it?

I have a small dent in the driver's side rear quarter (about 2" wide, 1/16" deep). I have had three estimates, all of them were for over $500. The largest chunk of the estimate was paint hours (pearl/white) and the repair was to be hammered out. To replace the rear quarter panel would have tripled the expense.

I wouldn't worry about a little Bondo to fill the dent, as long as the repair looks sound. I would worry if they had replaced the panel, as this would imply a much more serious accident.

Try opening one of the access panels behind the quarter that was repaired.

Unless they're mangled beyond recognition, quarter panels are normally repaired, not replaced. Cutting the C pillar is a big job, and most body shops won't attempt it.

not sure how long ago it had been hit... depending on what he says i'll have to look very carefully at the body work, or not so carefully :pface
