Ok, ive finally gotten a job, and have decided to start my RB prodject. though mines a bit different, and i plan on doing it in stages. So far heres what ive decided to do.

In the end, i am going to have an RB30DET pushing about 800 - 900 whp (yeah crazy arent i?)

My original idea was to buy an rb25front clip, drop that engine into my car and run it at 15psi while i build the car up.

Meanwhile, id have an RB30 in the shop being built from the ground up (ive allready got the engine, just need to send my guy in australia 300 for shipping) I plan on runnning about 8.2 compression. and then when everything is done but the head swap, i was going to get that done, and have the new engine dropped into the car.

But due to the recent news about lack of supply of RB25s, im starting to get a little iffy on if i wanna do a full rb25 front clip.

Any sudjestion? im trying to think financially, and time isnt really That big an issue to me. but money is. so im open to comments sudjestions and what not. All ive really got right now is the rb30, dont even have a 240 yet (soon to be rectified) ive been building a parts list of what im going to be buying and prices of each item. so far ive worked the full final product to cost me between 15 and 20 gs (ouch) witch im trying to get down to about 10 - 15 gs but i will not sacrifice performance.

That aside, the big issue is should i buy the full rb25 front clip? cuase i will need a lot of parts from it to install the rb30, or should i just go straight to the rb30? im really not too sure right now.

How bout this...for all the parts that you need from the RB25, buy them, but buy aftermarket ones. So u will get more bang for ur buck. That is if you cn find the parts, good luck on that,;)

Why not get a RB26 clip, with the RB25 transmission? That way you'll have your parts you need, along with the RB26 head needed for the RB30DET setup...unless u were just doin a RB30E

ummm i can do a head swap for an RB30 using the rb25head, and why should i pay 4 grand more for a head with better springs? cuase thats all id really be getting, and ive allready got a pair of those lined up. id be wasting more money with the rb26, and the reason i dont wanna buy just a bunch of aftermarket parts is one BIG reason... Moola

I don;t have alot of money ,but i do have one thing. knowing my boundries;). and when a project is really in my reach or not.

so you just got a job? doing what? the way i see it is this man. unless you live with ma and pa and make atleast 2 g's a month. then a long time awaits you before any real thing is going to happen. now if you worked at a shop which did RB swaps and had parts around all the time and the equipment to do this swap. then i would say hell yeah. but as far as i see it. just another one of those: i wanna talk about a swap i'm going to do in 20 years after i get a job ,car, license, married and have kids and they get out of school swap.so good luck man. and god speed.
