Its been a while since Ive posted on here... How ya'll been doin' (in my country accent)?

Tonight I was going about 45-55mph around a tight curve connecting 2 highways. Towards the end of the curve there was a bump that was the equivalent of a miniature speedbump if you will... It spanned across both lanes.

When I hit it (wheels still turned), the front wheels felt like they lost contact with the road for a fraction of a second (sort of... You know how with our suspensions, big bumps at high speeds can unsettle the suspension slightly)...
Anyway, i immediately noticed what felt like engine braking, and when I pressed the gas, nothing was happening.... I looked at the dash and the Traction Control light was flashing... It flashed for about 3 seconds and when it stopped flashing I was able to accelerate again...

This is the first time Ive ever experienced this with this vehicle... Or any for that matter... And I have certainly subjected this vehicle to worse things before (unfortunately)...

So tell me..... Is this a "normal" characteristic of the Traction Control system? Did I just subject it to the right combination of factors at the right time and it worked properly? Or is something wrong with my system?

when traction control kicks in, it cuts power. period the end.
what you had there, was typical traction control characteristics. this is why i turn that ish off in the rain/snow. it causes more problems than it fixed (for those who know how to drive out of a fishtail)
i have hit potholes, while turning (on dry roads) before and had that similar thing happen. its normal.

remember, when you are turning, the inside wheels are already traveling at a slower rate, so if you add a bump, that causes a wheel to rotate even less (or the outside wheels even more) it looks like a total lose of traction, and the computer reacts accordingly.

(on a dry sunny day) i was pulling out of a business parking lot onto a major roadway. At the exit of the parking lot was tons of gravel/sand accumulated. the turn was a tight 90degree turn from a stop. upon seeing a clear chance to exit, i accelerated, the inside wheels slipped on the gravel, and traction control kicked in. power was cut, and i couldnt move. safe to say, it took about 3-5 seconds before i was able to accelerate enough to not get rear ended.

Was this on the Queens-bound Whitestone bridge, just after the end of the bridge on the split between the Cross Island and Whitestone Expressway? Left lane after bearing right to the Whitestone Expressway, heading towards Van Wyck/Shea Stadium?

There's a similar curve with bumps near Whole Foods in White Plains where my Rogue has reacted the EXACT same way in wet conditions, but at a lower speed (around 30-35mph). I can definitely see it happening in dry conditions at higher speed, which is consistent with what you described.

What happened to you is very typical and common for this vehicle. System working as designed. Which kind of sucks, as 5.56 said.
