OK Boost ????

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

ok if i am running about 2500-3000 and punch the throttle it hits 10psi but if i take off the line like im drag racing it only hits 7psi is this normal

yeah man it's 2 stage boost. That's the way it's always been. You can do a search someone has already done the research on wich wire to ground.

to make things easy, your boost is a 10 psi when u punch it to get u going fast, but then it backs off so u dont blow ur **** up

My last RB20 had no such occurence when bone stock with just an open 3" downpipe. Not saying it doesn't exist, it just didn't for me.

Check your boost at your turbo... what mods do you have?

do you think if i got a boost controller it would hold at 10 psi ????

I bet you're spiking. Your big FMIC is probabaly also causing a bit of pressure drop; it's a bit a big for a stock snail.

My FMIC is pretty small as you can tell by the pic in my sig... I'm hitting boost cut

Where is your pickup for your boost now? Take it at the turbo (tap into your wastegate actuator) and you'll see what kind of boost drop you do have...

Sounds like you are exceeding the compressor's eff range the way the boost is running... but that wouldn't make a lot of since at that boost level unless your turbo is actually boosting much higher than your current boost reading...

my intercooler is 12X30 inlet and outlet on same side drivers side im running my boost gauge off the intake manifold vacume it pulls pretty hard but not as hard as id like
