I got a JWT pop charger and I'm not sure how to oil the filter... I've had cold air intakes on other cars but never had to oil the filter... ??

I'd get an AEM Dry-flo lol.

I thought the filters were sold pre-oiled. Anyways, you basically want a thin coat over the pleats. DO NOT SOAK IT.

Once you've oiled it, you can put it on some newspaper and let it "dry".

I personally hate the oiled filters because it's too hard to get the right consistancy of oil. AEM and Amsoil make synthetic fiber filters that need no oil.

Yeah but I've read a bunch of studies saying the no-oil filters don't flow as well. They flow between an oiled filter and a regular paper filter because they need to make the filter element closer to trap the dirt. Though all of the studies did report they got a slightly better MPG rating with the no-oils.

If you got the JWT and it's blue...it's oiled already. For future...it's VERY easy to re-oil yourself. They should have sent you instructions, if not, it will be on their website.

I've heard that the filter actually works even better when it's slightly dirty btw

An AEM Dryflow actually has better flow than a K&N oiled, and filters out finer particulates.

That's because the holes in the guaze are so large. When the filter gets slightly dirty, the accumulated dirt starts filtering more dirt. Reminds me of the cholesterol animations lol.
