oilfilter adaptor plate... no fit. Bluebird sr20

As I'm finishing up my Bluebird SR swap, I've hit a few delays. One being my topic for this thread. I'm part way through installing my oil pressure gauge and the threaded piece that goes with the oil filter adapter plate will not allow the long shaft to pass through it. it fits the oil filter fine. It is threaded for a short distance then gets narrow inside. The shaft on the other hand has over an inch of just shaft before it's threaded. Doesn't seem to make sense why that shaft is so long. (I've thought about cutting it but that would be a last resort) Has anybody tried this Prosport gauge before... if so, do you have a specific part that worked for you? I think the fitment is the same between my bluebird and the sr20de.

I'm not sure I follow what part is too long? The fitting on the line for the pressure gauge?

Not sure what to do about that other than trying to find a different fitting. You should be able to find a female/male piece with a shorter male end to fit in the adapter plate.

sorry for being so unclear in my description.

I talked to a guy from prosport gauges and I'm gonna send the part in, they're gonna replace it with one similar, they say they're confident it will work.

but anyway, it's the original factory shaft that a stock oil filter would screw onto. that's what is too long.

Gotcha, yeah, sounds like just the wrong part.
