I have a 2017 Rogue SL and the book calls out for the oil to be OW/20SN. The only OW20 oil I can find is synthetic and that is not listed in the book! What oil should I use? Thanks for any help.

mac, Nobody probably heard of this much , but goto the Dealer , see if that "Ester oil" is recomended and available there ,go buy some . My first '14 Juke oil change I used Mob1 , then I saw Nissan recommendation for timing guide/tensioner issues and then I went ( I'm still under warranty now's why) solely with Nissan Ester oil that's specified in orig. owners manual and FSM. They also have a "Long " oil filter ,which I get with a new "free" drain-plug washer :rotfl Oh, one more thing Ester oil,I believe is one specific kind of "synthetic-oil".

Been using synthetic since 2009.

First oil change was Penzoil Platinum Ultra.

Then the rest Signature Series Amsoil 5w30 ever since.

I'm using SS Amsoil 0w30 (first time) for nearly 6000 miles now and plan to use for over 20,000 miles.

Still have original cvt 84k miles.

Runs great! :mike

It's fully synthetic if what your manuals states is the below:

NISSAN MOTOR OIL FULL SYNTHETIC 0W-20 SN/GF-5
Meets or exceeds the requirements of:
• API SN
• ILSAC GF-5

I would use any fully-synthetic brand so long as it conforms to those specifications, such as Mobil1 which does:

Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20 is an advanced performance synthetic engine oil suitable for a range of Nissan cars including Nissan Altima models and Nissan Sentra models. Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20 is a fully synthetic engine oil that meets and exceeds the industry specifications: ILSAC GF-5 and API SN

Thanks guys! I will use the synthetic along with the synthetic filter. The book states 5000 miles before changing.
