What type of oil and fliter do you guys use for 03 m45? I am currently using mobil 1 5w 30 advanced synthetic 15,000 mile protection i change it every 3,000 miles. I have heard royal purple is good. Also is 0w 40 a good switch to make? Looking for best oil to use to make my 03 m last as long as possible recently did tune up with ngk laser platinum at $14 per plug. Any other routine maintinence that can help. I love this car has higher mileage now but lookin to get the most i cam out of it. I am very meticulous when it comes to maintinence.

I stick with the Nissan/Infiniti OEM filter for simplicity. it is an excellent filter, at a reasonable price, and can be easily bought at any Nissan or Infiniti dealer. Or on-line from any of the NICO advertisers who sell Nissan and Infiniti products.

Also, I answered your oil question in the other thread. :yesnod

And, of course, welcome to NICO!

Nissan filters are not that good.there's a video YouTube showing how the insides are cheap cardboard and fall apart easy.I use and always will use Mobil 1 filters.and Mobil one oil.and if you get a oil change at the dealer"stealer" and don't ask for a premium oil change.they will use bulk oil which is no good at all.I buy cases of Mobil 1 from Costco for 25 bucks and Mobil 1 filter online 3 for 35 shipped.

You can also run Mobil one for over 3000 miles before u need to change it.good luck

Here's link to inside of oil filter

When I have the dealer change the oil (at the 7500 mile), I always have them use my oil (I buy it from local stores ...).

Interesting video - thanks. In regard to the filter, since I change it every 3750 miles, I have always considered that the quality and design (even if it is paper) is good and sufficient to the task. The Mobil 1 filter may be better perhaps - do you know what the internal construction is? Is there a similar video on it?
