past few days.. my oil dipstick was not reading any oil which I can't see why.. I never leak oil and there is never any oil burning out the exhuast pipe. so i did an early oil change to play it safe, still dipstick does not read oil level, and still not leaking oil and still not burning any oil... To get my dipstick to read the oil, i have to re-start the engine, run at idle for 2 minutes, and check the dipstick again, and then it reads it has full oil... WTF is going on??? I believe the problem is oil pump.. I belive the oil pump is failing or the oil stranier in the oil pan, becasue now today my timing chain is staring to make a rubbing sound. it is not the upper timing chain gudie either beause i have a ka24e.

can anybody try to take a guess of what is going on with my engine? last time i chekced a few months back the compression was 160 on all 4 cylinders. Iwas going to turbo this motor but now i'm worried about it and now i'm planning to not turbo it. the motor only has 91k mileage...

alright thanks for reading this everybody and thanks for all the replies.

When you drained the oil, was it the correct amt?

When you put back in oil right after changing it, did you see oil level? You should at the very least see it right after you poured it in from the top of the oil cap to the bottom of the engine...

Stupid question: is the car on or off when you are checking the oil?

yep it was all the right amt., and yep i seen the oil level right after, i chekced and it read full, but now doesn't.

i have the car shut off when i checked it.. but i have to re-start the engine again and then shut it off, and re-check the dipstick and then it reads on the dipstick.

You give it a few minutes to drain back right?

Also, do you get the low oil pressure light or anything (which may indicate bad pump or strainer being clogged).

Pulled ecu codes just for fun?

When you drained your oil, everything looked kosher? no weird colors/milky/metal bits/etc?

yep i waited a few minutes, no oil pressure light came on, but as i drive and when i'm on the trottle i can see my ecu blnking a green light.. ??? not sure what that is about but i'll check the codes then.

while the oil was draining, it all looked fine, no different color, wasn't milky and also wasn't even shinny.
