Hey,

I installed a few gauges (water temp, oil pressure, oil temp)...

I used a + fitting off the oil pressure switch for the oil pressure, oil temp and oil feed.. now, the oil pressure reads fine.. but the oil temp gauge never moves... so, I plugged the sender wire into the water temp gauge, which starts at 100*F instead of 140*F like the oil temp, and it never read above 125*F.. which I know can't be right for the oil to be that cool.. so, my question is.. is that a bad location for the oil temp? Should I move the sender to the oil pan? and if so, is there some sort of adapter for the oil drain plug, so I don't have to tap the oil pan?

here's a pic of what I used..

i'm not too sure but, the temperature sensor has to be bathed in a constant stream of fluid to read properly.from looking at the tee setup, it doesn't look like it's reading moving fluid.the next best thing is to hook it up to a bung on the oil pan.your temp sensor could be incorrect too. use an ir thermometer to double check, if accuracy is a concern. maybe it could be reading celsius vs fahrenheit, i don't know. just grabbing at possibilities.

Well, I figured it was a moving stream because of the oil pressure sensor.. I could be wrong.. I can run the engine for a good 20 minutes, and put my hand on that + fitting, and it doesn't even feel hot, but the oil pan is somewhat warm... I just don't want to have to have to add another bung to my oil pan.. but if I have to, i will.. just wanted to check and see if there's anohter location that works.
