Oil temp. gauge & Fuel gauge don't work

I have a 1990 Pathfinder and my oil & fuel gauges dnt wrk. I was told to replace the solenoid behind the gauges. Is that all I should replace or is this more? Is it even the solenoid? And also my gas light doesn't go on if im low on fuel.

I need answers asap bcuz this is my daily driver for school. I don't want it runnin out of fuel in the highway. It already happened to me today thank god it ran out in my town so it was not a big deal.

Sounds more like something isn't plugged in. Did you get the vehicle this way or did it happen recently?
