if you want to go ultra cheap, head down to a local hardware store and pick up a brass 1/8th npt tee, then tap the block a little. You can also check our a local hydraulics company that does industrial work they may have a steel or aluminum version for cheap.

Hi guys, let me share my experiences on this subject.

I'm part of a Datsun club with loads of memebers with 1200s and 510s with SR20, CA18, FJ20 etc. We had a track day in 2005, where 2 or 3 cars dropped oil all over the track from a broken brass tee piece, from the same manufacturer. They use it so they could keep an eye on engine temps.

They had the tee piece directly connected to the block and threaded part of the tee piece split through the thread. If you must use a tee piece, attach it to the car body (strut tower), and run some high pressure hose to the engine block.

Neither of the products with URLs in this thread are like the tee piece used in my examples. But be wary of hanging anything with some weight, off of the engine block, as the vibration will fatigue it.

Cheers,Chris

It works fine for me. I've got an autometer sending unit hooked up to the bottom of it.

As for the breaking fitting, I could see how that is possible. I've been beating on my car daily for a year now w/o a problem, but anything is possible.
