im currently running mobil 1 full synthetic 15w 50but at around 40$ a pop for changes its getting pretty exspensive. and i change it every 1500-2000miles, im paranoid i know!!

my friend that is running a Mk3 supra he knows them well, and another SR friend both tell me im wasting my money and to just run castrol GTX 10w 30 or 40. should i or should i just continue to fork out 40 every month or two for the good sh*t

try royal purple, about the same price as mobile 1 but better resistance to breakdown. NAPA, pep boys, and most performance shops sell it (atleast in Texas). I have used for 5 years and have always been happy with it.

I run 15-50 Mobil 1 in the DSM. The '89T has 10-30 Mobil 1 and the '87T has 10-30 Mobil non-synthetic, as it leaks like a pig. I'm going to try 15-50 in it once I get off my *** and replace the front main.

With the expensive oil, I usually change the filter every 2500 and the oil itself every 5000. Never had a problem.

slw, you're changing the oil to frequently. Don't be so paraniod. The oil company isn't out to ruin your car, I promise. :D Changing it any more often than 3thousand miles is a waste. Let her go a little longer

espe ially if you're running full synthetic, the oil could take 4-5k changes, but the filter might not be able to, but the oil could take it,

Thats bad logic, IMO. Nissans are only warranteed 3 years or so aren't they? And there are more reasons to go with a specific oil besides how long the car will last, such as fuel mileage. Also, Nissan has NO turbo cars in its lineup.

I dunno though. I'd go with a Castrol syntec, gtx or Mobil 1 10w40, or 15w50, Especially in Florida.

i use gtx 10w-40, i really have got to hand it to that stuff. when that radiator hose came off, i drove it for another hour without noticing, the car then died and would not run. i let it sit, replaced the coolant, and tried starting it. it fired right up, no problems. this oil hasnt let me down yet, i highly reccomend it, and its cheap.
