just have a quick question before i do it.. im doing an oil change on my car and wanted to ask u guys what brand u guys recommend for a SOHC with 157k auto

With that many miles, I'd recommend Valvoline Maxlife.

yeah, I honestly would go with a sythetic or a blend. Maxlife is good. It has additives that "condition" seals and shtuff (they really swell up the rubber a little to seal better).
