any one know if there is a way for which you could have a like oil pan just for a turbo like have oil go from a separate pan not part of the motor and have it go to the turbo and back in like an independent system idk its hard to explain what im thinking but here is a drawing to better help

I'm sure you could but um, why? And why make two threads about it?

Just have someone drill and weld a fitting in your oil pan. By the time you spend money on everything you'll probably have a few hundred into your second oil system.

It's very possible. You'll need a seperate oil reservoir, seperate oil pump, seperate filtration system, breather system, and of course all the hoses and adapters to make that happen.

It will have no benefit other than being "cool" and many downfalls-like cost, mounting, room for all components, and you would have to find a way to check the oil level.

I think putting a fitting in the oil pan sounds a lot more practical.

just curious, not tryin to hate... but why would that be "sick"? and wouldn't the turbo's own oil pan be more like a ... can lol. I've read about people saying that the engine's oil has ya know little metal shavings sometimes, I don't care how often you change your oil, with that much friction it's gonna get some stuff in it. And yea the turbo would run cooler without 200+ degree oil running through it (I don't know how hot oil is I'm just throwing a number out there) but doesn't seem worth the trouble to go through all that. If you're worried bout the oil being dirty though you could prolly find a filter to go in the line between your source and the turbo, Idk though. just my .02

Its a great idea that has been done countless times, however it has a few key downfalls. I want to run one on my ka-t setup, but the price keeps me away. With me fabing everything its at least 500 bucks, and thats without any safety equipment, like oil pressure lights, pressure regulators, ect. In addition, its more moving parts more things to fail. However if you have audible pressure alarms this is a non issue.

The biggest advantage here would be the fact that your oil running to the turbocharger really never breaks down. Its going to stay clean and healthy for a very long time. You can also rig it up so that your turbo never gets a dry start, it has oil pumping through it before the engine starts.

You cant cheap out on this setup though. The pumps like $370 for the one you should get, and at the very least you should have a low oil pressure sensor that is hooked up to an audible alarm in your cabin. Not hard to do though.
