Oil Strainer Gasket/O-Ring

Is there supposed to be a gasket between the strainer and the oil pump? I I have the o-ring in there, and it looked like it was in good condition so I didn't replace it.

I just saw this pic in the FSM and it made me think that I needed a gasket in there:

I'm not sure what the X means, but it looks like there is a gasket in there? Anyone have a part number, or do I have to make one? All I can find is a part number for the o-ring.

I too just had an o-ring in there as well. No gasket. My oil pressure is perfect so I dont think theres a problem
