I saw a thread on ka-t.org about a guy doing oil squirters on his SOHC. Does anyone know the part# for the DOHC oil squirters? or have a set of all 4 and banjo bolts for sale?

I want to add them to my SOHC block because the turbo240 rods do not have oiling holes in the rods like the SOHC and the SOHC does not have oil squirters. I may as well add them for the extra insurance later on. So anyone please help.

I don't think they are for lube, they are to cool the pistons.

I have a suggestion although I don't know how good it is so some on chime in. But instead of going through the trouble of getting oil squirters put in, wouldnt getting an oil cooler be just as beneficial?

I don't know Im just trying to find other solutions

An oil cooler cools the oil itself. The oil squirters are to spray oil onto the piston skirt, in an effort to dissipate combustion heat out of the piston. The oil cooler wouldn't do anything to help remove the heat from the piston.

yeah thats why i want them for the piston skirts. I will be running this motor hard and would like the extra protection for the pistons. I will be adding an oil cooler as well.

what you could do is build a SOHC ka with a DOHC block and rods, but SOHC pistons and head. this sounds kinda fun but not very practical.

ps. im a retard for thinking so hard to come up with this.

i noticed when i was building my bottom end the other day that my crowers dont have oiling holes as well. i wonder what the reason for that is? of course, i didnt take the bearings off the stock rods to check and see if those had oiling holes on them either.

lol yeah i was just about to edit my post cause i just thought of why youd need oil there. you dont, so i guess the bearings just come like that for what reason??? but yeah def dont need oil getting in there. as long as its coming out of the crank youre good.

Or you could use a DOHC block with bottom end, install the SOHC head and get 7.8:1 compression for boost over 20psi!

wild_maxx my aim is jarek1us

ps. it may take sometime for me to take those out as i'd have to take out the pistons and everything, and find the tools to do so.

7.8:1 static CR would absolutely suck for any engine operation out of boost. Talk about gettin' killed tryin' to pull out onto a 4 lane highway!

Plus, I bet you could boost 40psi on 7.8:1 lol. That would be interesting.

Yeah, but can you imagine 40 psi? Something like a T60-1/3? V8 killer? NO! V12 Killer!
